{"id":9006,"date":"2025-02-14T09:50:03","date_gmt":"2025-02-14T09:50:03","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/artscouncilmalta.gov.mt\/?p=9006"},"modified":"2025-08-29T03:18:24","modified_gmt":"2025-08-29T01:18:24","slug":"eight-young-artists-to-benefit-from-new-young-talent-fund","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/artscouncil.abcnow.xyz\/en\/eight-young-artists-to-benefit-from-new-young-talent-fund\/","title":{"rendered":"Eight young artists to benefit from new Young Talent Fund"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>The first beneficiaries of the programme, aged between 10 and 17, include a classical musician who will participate in the Golden Classical Music Awards at the Weill Recital Hall at Carnegie Hall in November.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The fund will also support young ballet dancers\u2019 participation at the YAGP semi-final in Paris in November, where they will be eligible for participation in the finals in New York and the possibility of a scholarship.&nbsp; &nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThis programme complements Arts Council Malta\u2019s vision of placing the arts and creativity at the heart of Malta&#8217;s future,\u201d stated Minister for Justice, Culture and Local Government Owen Bonnici. \u201cAt a time when young artists are still largely dependent on family support, this fund offers the same opportunities to all emerging artists, at a time when their talent and life choices are being shaped,\u201d he continued.&nbsp; &nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Young Talent Fund aims to support the mobility of young creatives to explore, build networks and to engage in international collaborations, to encourage young creatives to actively engage in international platforms and to facilitate and expose young talent to other international practices.&nbsp; &nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Through the programme, which deploys \u20ac18,000 for the current year, the artists will receive support to cover the implementation costs for projects with a maximum duration of one month between October 2018 and October 2019.&nbsp; &nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Applications for the fund were selected on a competitive basis and each eligible application was evaluated according to established criteria, including the artistic merit of the project and the artistic relevance of the opportunity; the value of the platform and of the opportunity and the&nbsp; &nbsp;professional and financial management of the project.&nbsp; &nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThe fund is in line with Arts Council Malta\u2019s focus on internationalisation,\u201d said Arts Council Malta Executive Chairman Albert Marshall.
