Budget 2020: Increased investment in culture

The yearly analysis of the national budget conducted by Arts Council Malta reveals an overall increase of 2.7 per cent for culture, with a total budget of €85.8 million for cultural heritage, the arts, media and creative sectors.

Third edition of ‘Il-Premju għall-Arti’ launched

The coveted Il-Premju għall-Arti, an initiative by Arts Council Malta, within the Ministry for Justice, Culture and Local Government is back for its third edition. The awards will be under the patronage of President of Malta George Vella and will be celebrating excellent and outstanding work premiered throughout the 2018/2019 creative season, contributing to the advancement of Malta’s cultural and creative sectors.
Investing in our traditions – €150,000 distributed among 29 band clubs

Minister for Justice, Culture and Local Government Owen Bonnici announced that a total of 29 musical societies have been awarded € 150,000 amongst them, thanks to a fund focusing on strengthening the cultural work done by these societies. This fund is now in its third year.

Cittadella Arts Festival in Gozo

On Saturday 17th August, the curtain will be raised on the Cittadella Arts Festival in Gozo. The festival, which runs until the 13th September, is being organized by DCapitals Big Band in collaboration with the Ministry for Gozo, the Malta Arts Council (Gozo Cultural Support Programme), the Malta Tourism Authority and Heritage Malta.
