New scheme with an investment of €90,000 for restoration and conservation work in parish churches launched

Minister for National Heritage, the Arts and Local Government José Herrera has launched a €90,000 investment scheme for restoration and conservation work in parish churches. The scheme aims to provide financial support for the restoration and conservation work on altars, architectural decoration, gilding and frescoes of the parish churches of the Archdiocese of Malta and the Diocese of Gozo.
8 projects to receive €90,000 as part of the Malta Arts Fund – Project Support Grant (2nd Call 2020)

8 projects have been selected by Arts Council Malta to benefit from the Malta Arts Fund – Project Support Grant (2nd Call 2020). The beneficiaries were announced during a press conference held at Spazju Kreattiv. A total of 8 projects were selected out of 36 applications. In total, the projects received €90,000.

€470,000 in financial support for feast associations

Minister for the National Heritage, the Arts and Local Government José Herrera launched three funding schemes; €150,000 for the scheme to support local band clubs, a €170,000 funding scheme for the safety at voluntary firework factories and a €150,000 funding scheme for the artistic financing for feast associations. The three pillars often serve as vital cultural centres of activity and also play an important role in the lives of their local communities.
Investment in Cultural Organisations Programme

As part of Arts Council Malta’s strategy in providing support for organisations, regular festivals, programmes and events in planning ahead, through sustainable models of management, primarily addressing cultural professionals and communities, in 2016, following a competitive call for proposals, 11 organisations and festivals active in the cultural and creative sectors were selected to become Arts Council Malta’s strategic partners during the years between 2017 and 2019.
