As part of our 10th anniversary celebrations, Arts Council Malta (ACM) is launching a special call for artistic proposals for the upcoming edition of Premju għall-Arti 2025, Malta’s national arts awards.
This year’s edition of the Premju will feature three newly- commissioned performances that are set to take centre stage during the ceremony which will take place at the historic Teatru Manoel in December. Each selected performance will receive up to €6,000 (excl. VAT) to bring their artistic vision to life.
Theme & Creative Direction
Artists are invited to submit short performances (3 to 4 minutes) that interpret ACM’s journey over the past decade through innovative, multidisciplinary, and engaging storytelling. Proposals should reflect one or more of the following themes:
- Cultural Rights: How the arts promote accessibility, inclusivity, and participation in culture for all.
- Sustainability & Resilience: The creative sector’s response to recent challenges, such as the pandemic.
- International Connections: Celebrating global collaborations and the cross-cultural dialogue fostered by ACM.
- Future Vision: Imagining the future of arts and culture in Malta, inspired by lessons from the past.
Applicants are encouraged to push creative boundaries using a range of art forms including theatre, dance, music and interdisciplinary performance. Proposals must be suitable for the main stage at Teatru Manoel, and include a technical rider and production details.
